Orthodontics

The fixed devices, known as bracketts, are responsible for moving the teeth by applying gentle forces, transmitting the appropriate tension to the tooth by means of a metallic arc (usually Ni-Ti wire) inserted in them.

These brackets can be metallic, ceramic or sapphire, and produce a controlled movement of the teeth.

The final goal of our treatments is an aesthetic and functional occlusion. A bad occlusion does not only affect the appearance of the mouth, it can also be the cause of other pathologies such as excessive wear of teeth, damage to the gum and other periodontal tissues, fractures and unwanted tooth movements. Malpositioning also hinders dental hygiene, favoring the appearance of cavities, gum diseases and bad breath. There are different treatment techniques and orthodontic appliances. Each of them has a different function and you should always be the orthodontic specialist who values which is most appropriate in your case.

The treatment with invisible orthodontics (Invisalign®) consists of a series of transparent and removable aligners that are changed according to the time required of each patient, and that must be worn a minimum of 22 hours a day, without the use of brackettts. Each of the aligners is manufactured specifically for a concrete and progressive movement of your teeth. As you change aligner, your teeth will move, little by little, week after week, until they are aligned and in the final position prescribed by the dentist. The patient carries the aligners at all times, except during meals, brushing and other dental hygiene procedures.

The Invisalign® treatment begins with a recording of impressions and registration of the occlusion (way of biting the patient), as well as an adequate radiographic and photographic study. Using advanced digital image processing technology, patient models are transformed into a highly accurate three-dimensional digital image. Next, an individualized treatment sequence is created for each patient. Although there are many options in the market, there is no such comfortable and discreet treatment to align your teeth as Invisalign®.

This treatment is the best option if you are ashamed to use the traditional bracketts, or if your work requires a perfect image at all times. If you want to correct your smile without anyone noticing that you are wearing orthodontics, Invisalign® is the technique you were looking for.

Orthodontics in children and adolescents

The early detection of dental position problems and alterations of maxillary growth is fundamental to correct them before bone maturation. Valuing orthodontic treatment in children is of vital importance, because the sooner the pathological growth tendencies are modified, the better. It is advisable to make the first visit to the dentist after 3 years, to detect possible problems early and to correct certain habits that cause important malocclusions, such as sucking the finger or prolong the use of the pacifier excessively.

From the age of 12, usually all the definitive teeth are already present. The growth of the maxillary bones is almost complete and we can influence it little. Therefore, as of this age, the main objective is the correction of badly positioned teeth.

Generally, the usual orthodontic treatment in children and adolescents is carried out using metallic or tooth-colored bracelets. These stick to the tooth and are connected to each other by a Ni-Ti arch; tooth movement is achieved with the force exerted by the arch on the bracket, which in turn transmits it to the tooth.

If your child is already a teenager and is given a cut to wear bracelets, you can opt for Invisalign Teen®. The great advantage of invisible orthodontics is that it gives teens the confidence of a good smile without affecting their image.

In any case, if you detect problems in your child’s teeth, it is important that you do not hesitate to ask our orthodontist to advise you on the best treatment. Orthodontics can also be fun, with personalized treatments for children, such as colored rubber bands for bracelets.

In our clinic we carry out a previous diagnosis, and we inform you of all the treatment options. We offer financing to your needs.
